The Life’s Too Short star played an Ewok in Return of the Jedi and popped up again as Wald in The Phantom Menace but is now keen to take on another role in the new sci-fi film.
Davis revealed his dream part in an interview with Empire about his role as host of Celebration Europe, a three-day event in Essen, Germany, next month to celebrate all things Star Wars.
Asked whether he’s thrown his name into the ring for the new films, he replied: ‘Of course. You have to drop hints.
‘I don’t know whose ear to drop them in anymore but I think Kathleen Kennedy’s (executive producer) quite a good start.
‘I’ve got her for an hour on stage so I might use some of that for audition time.’
He added: ‘But I’d love to do it, and the fact they’re filming in England makes it much easier.
‘I just think it would be wonderful to be connected to all three trilogies.’
JJ Abrams is directing Star Wars Episode 7 which is due out in 2015.
